a little

It’s great to meet you.

Hello There! I am Lissette, aka Lizzie

Eight years ago, just before having my first child, I researched newborn photographers to capture pictures of my baby. Throughout my pregnancy, I gained a lot of weight and felt awful about myself, so I waited before finding someone until after the baby was born. But by the time I had him, my delivery had been so traumatic that I never got his newborn images done, and I regret that decision.

Fast forward two years expecting my second child, I was determined to get this baby some photographs. When we got to the photographer, she offered to take photographs of us with the baby; I hated how I looked, but I agreed, and boy, do I love those photographs.

And then I thought to myself, what if I can give this experience to someone else? This was when I knew I wanted to be a photographer. As I look back at these photographs I see the love of a family, a tiny baby who grew too fast and a memory of how we were.

Since then, my mission is not only to take photographs but to capture beautiful and elegant portraiture for families, children and empowered women, who one day will look back at these photographs with love and realise that even though time has passed, the memory is alive forever.

Lissette Arenas Photography is the birth of love and self-acceptance, and I want to capture your special moments to last a lifetime and beyond!

Self Love

I believe genuinely in self-love, yet I know how difficult it is to love ourselves daily. We often need to be reminded that we are wonderful, just as we are. And you know what? WE ARE!

Our household is a crazy, chaotic and loud home full of love and happiness (most of the time). We, my husband Steve and I, are proud parents of two little monsters, Sofia and Ethan; we’re also parents to one beautiful Golden Retriever named Jesse, one cheeky black cat called Skye (she was almost called Rainbow Sparkles by my unicorn-obsessed daughter) and finally our Beta Fish called Evan.

Steve and I have been married since 2011. We’re a fantastic match, and we love each other even when it’s hard. We both have different tastes, likes and hobbies, which we encourage each other to pursue no matter what.

Steve is entirely into Kayaking and Property development, and he also works in IT. He is the sweetest man and doesn’t have a bad bone in his body, he loves being a dad and is very hands-on with anything that has to do with our kids. He also does the washing up, laundry and animal feeding.

I, on the other hand, am very much into interior designing my home, learning the saxophone and anything to do with the arts. I could live in galleries and museums every day, all day long; unfortunately, my kids and husband can care less.
